Thanks to a flickr friend, I found that my photos were featured (without credit or attribution) on a popular Turkish newspaper.
Here is another, more blatant offender. Thanks, Elli!
These are just a few of the reasons why I disabled downloading from flickr and added watermarks to my photos.
I do not mind use of my photos as long as there is a link back to this site.
Can anyone translate the title given to the slideshow by the newspaper? Google language tools does not do Turkish yet. Thanks in advance, and happy 2009 to all!

Too bad, but there's always theft, and good things get stolen more often.
Don't know any Turkish, but Milliyet should be a major newspaper in Turkey, circulation several hundred thousand. It may make sense to write them a letter (even in English) and ask for payment/credit or takedown.
The other site seems to be a picture blog in Russian by user kro1975@livejournal.com. I can help with some Russian translation if you want to write him in Russian, or anything. Don't know thou if it would do any good.
Hey man, I just googled for a translator and the first link already gave me this result:
> Turkish: Miami'de gece hayatı
> English: The night life in miami
So there you go.
Keep up the good work.
I must confess we have the same taste as far as the most Beautiful thing's in Miami(especially that one in the black dress!!)So I frequently use some of them as screen saver's, hope you don't mind. I'm stuck here in freezing cold Brooklyn for know, Your Pic's really make me miss Miami. Planning a trip in February.
Keep up the good work and good luck with those thieves.

Hi I have a friend who painted a mural a few years back(the wall on I-95 margulies gallery with all the eyes) , photographers have taken several photos of it and have published them on 949 magazine and have also blown up the photos and placed them on the elevator landings at the Midtown Condo Buildings with no credit to his name. Is there any way we can seek compensation for this or at least some credit for the work? What actions are you taking?
Sucks, Carlos. I'm digging your new watermark, though, and that would take work to photoshop out that I don't think most will go through the effort to do. The watermark fits well.
I haven't had anyone place their own watermark on mine (like that horrible site did to yours). That's just inexcusable. I had one site take a photo and completely distort the image (scrunching a landscape into a portrait shot)so it was just ruined. :(
Why people don't credit the source or flat-out steal, I don't know. Bothersome.
I've met some people that are unconcerned with stealing pictures. Usually not artists.
Still, that's pretty lame putting their watermark on your picture. I dig your watermark though. Not obtrusive, and lots of style.
No good deed goes unpunished.
BTW, I'm still a huge fan.
Cheers,
SF
It's sad you need a watermark, but at least you chose a beautiful one that complements your photos, if there has to be one i'm glad that one's it..
I'm sorry people are stealing from you, but I'm not surprised, no pictures take me to Miami the way yours do.
Keep taking those great pictures, they keep me warm all the way here in London, even if they make me miss Miami a lot..
Is it possible to download higher resolution of your pics after registration or something? I was using them as desktop wallpaper and can't do that anymore as stretched pics are not that nice...
